The Gray Project is a ten-piece, jazz funk soul band from East Anglia, playing rare tunes, whose sole objective is to fill the floor with hip urban grooves, appealing to head, heart & feet. No tribute band, but a cool collective paying homage to the golden age of soulful, sassy, jazz-funk.

TGP play those songs which have been lost but not forgotten, featuring rare gems and lesser-known grooves.

Freddie’s Dead by the great Curtis Mayfield is smack bang one of those. Or how about Quincy Jones Stuff Like That?

Whether you want to groove to Jamaica Funk or get down to Gil Scott Heron’s Gun, or Lady Day and John Coltrane, TGP showcase songs which have been badly neglected, but brought back to life by a combination of fabulous musicianship and soulful commitment!
